My name is Edward Foley, my friends call me Ted, and I, along with my wife Virginia, are the creators of Northport Workshop and Studio.

 

I received my bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts from the College for Creative Studies in Detroit, MI and my master’s degree, also in Fine Arts, from Cranbrook Academy of Art, Bloomfield Hills, MI.  My artwork has taken many different paths over the years, ranging from photography and printmaking, screen printing, to sound art and film, to sculpture and furniture making and most recently, wood turning.  The constant between all of the mediums has remained a deep appreciation for nature.
